The Douglas A-1 Skyraider (formerly the AD Skyraider) was an attack aircraft operated by the US Navy, USAF, the South Vietnamese Air Force and several other air arms in the west. This was the last attack aircraft in the US Navy that was propeller driven.
The aircraft saw action in the Korean War, the 1954 Cathay Pacific shoot down incident, Vietnam War and several other conflicts during the first half of the Cold War. The Gabonese Air Force were the last operators of the A-1 in 1985.
