Overview
Chinese animation (中国アニメ, Kankoku anime), known as donghua (动画, 動畫), is animation work that is said to have originated and/or produced in China (People's Republic of China).
Although China has been subcontracting to Japanese animation studios since the 1980s, since the beginning of the 2010s, there has been a rapid rise in the number of animation productions planned independently in China.
Haoliners Animation League, a subsidiary of Bilibili, has established a production base in Japan and is working with Japanese companies to produce animated films and TV cartoons.
