Overview
Love Live! School Idol Project (ラブライブ!School Idol Project) is one of the Love Live! series, a group of media mix works featuring the activities of the school idols. This work is set in the fictional high school Otonokizaka Gakuin High School, which is located between Akihabara, Kanda and Jimbocho in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward, and follows the activities of the school idol group μ's.
Originally, the work began as a serial column in Dengeki G's magazine, a magazine published by Ascii Media Works (now KADOKAWA). In addition to the magazine column, CDs (including songs and audio dramas) released by Lantis (now Bandai Namco Arts), a subsidiary of Bandai Namco, and a promotional video produced by Sunrise, also a subsidiary of Bandai Namco, have been produced since the end of June 2010.
The original work was made by Sakurako Kimino.
A comic adaptation by Arumi Tokita has been serialised since the December 2011 issue of G's magazine as a preview edition, an TV anime version was broadcast from January to March 2013 (1st season) and from April to June 2014 (2nd season), and a film version was released from June 2015.

Honoka Kosaka, a protagonist, started school idol to save their school from the closure with other 8 members, and they organized "μ's," the idol group. Honoka started idol because she admired A-rise which is an idol group in other high school.
Finally, they succeeded to save their school from the closure.
In the story, the word "Love Live!" is used as the name of a national school idol competition. The contents of the competitions vary from media and production to production, so see Love Live (competitions) for more information on that.
