    MAD movie (MADムービー, Maddo Mūbī), mainly just called MAD, refers to works in which new meanings are added by editing audio and videos extracted from TV programs and other media, in other words, a form of remix culture. MAD is an abbreviation for Music Anime Douga (ミュージックアニメ動画, Myūjikku Anime Dōga).


    This kind of work has been around since the analog (more traditional) era, as long as you have recording equipment (but the difficulties of the analog era must have been tremendous).
