Machine (機械) refers to a device that has several parts and is powered to work.
Definitions of the term 'machine' vary, but broadly defined, it refers to any tool or device that has a mechanism for converting a force into a force or energy in a different direction, such as leverage or gears.
In everyday use, the term is also used in the sense of an artificial object in relation to living beings and nature, but even the same artificial object is not usually called a machine if it does not have a mechanical structure, such as common tableware, cutlery or buildings.
Many vehicles and devices are machines, but not all of them can be said to be machines, as there are also things such as palanquins, classical ships and stage ornaments that do not have any semblance of a mechanical structure.
