Overview編集

Magia Records: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story (マギアレコード 魔法少女まどか☆マギカ外伝) is a role-playing application game which is an offshoot of the TV anime "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" broadcast in 2011. The game is mainly available for smartphones.

Distribution began on 22 August 2017 as an app game for smartphones (Android, iOS); a PC browser version began on 7 April 2019 on DMMGAMES (pre-registration started on 7 January of the same year).

A stage play was performed at the TBS Akasaka ACT Theater from August to September 2018.

A manga adaptation of the series has been running in Manga Time Kirara Forward since August 2018.

A three-part TV animation series was produced by Shaft.

The first season of the TV anime was broadcast from January 2020; the second season started in August 2021 and the final season was broadcast in April 2022.

The story follows the activities of the 'Magical Girls' in the universe of the "Puella Magi Madoka Magica" series, taking place in a new city of Kamihama.

Introduction編集

The stage is set in burgeoning city called Kamihama.

Magical Girls are drawn there as if by some mysterious force.

Iroha Tamaki is one of them.

"Hey, Ui.... Why did you disappear?"

A new story about Magical Girls and the wishes that drive them unfolds...

Game System編集

The genre of the game is RPG.

Players battle magical girls against various enemies (Witches, Familiars, Uwasa, etc.) to advance the story. Magical Girls are trained by using material items and experience points obtained through battles and stories.

Story System編集

In the story part, the player can view the interaction of the characters in Live2D motion and, depending on the situation, make choices from the perspective of the 'Lil` Kyubey'. At key points in these dialogues, battles are interspersed with fights against enemies (due to game system reasons, some battles may be interspersed without any context).

The main story is voiced by the cast of characters, and all stories in the Arc 1 of the main story are currently fully voiced.

Main Story/Another Story編集

Currently, there are two arcs: Arc 1 (Happiness Witch), which takes place mainly in Kamihama City and Mitakihara City, and Arc 2 (The Hundred Calamities of Gathering), which takes place in other areas as well.

Magical Girl Story編集

Episodes about Magical Girls gained through gacha and other means are developed. Each Magical Girl story consists of three episodes, some of which are consecutive and some of which are independent. In addition, for some characters, the stories are linked to each other, and the same story may be told from different characters' perspectives.
