Simplified Hanzi

0

Simplified Hanzi (簡体漢字) is a simplified writing system, was established in the 1950s and is a simplified version of the traditional Chinese characters. In addition to China mainland, it has been adopted in Singapore, Malaysia, and other countries.

Overview

These characters were created in the People's Republic of China by taking Chinese characters originally used in China and replacing them with cursive elements in the standard script or with characters that have fewer strokes.

Although it is said that attempts to abbreviate Chinese characters, which were considered difficult to learn, had been underway since the end of the Qing Dynasty, work was delayed due to turmoil in Republic of China and Resistance against Japanese Aggression, and the Chinese writing system was finally adopted in 1956.

Currently there are two types of Hanzi: simplified Hanzi used in China mainland and other regions, and traditional Hanzi used in Taiwan, Hong Kong and other regions.

Pixiv supports both types of characters, and there are examples of both being used. Unfortunately, there is no function to integrate the two types of tags, making it difficult to create Chinese articles in the pixiv encyclopedia.
