Overview

Wriothesley is the Duke and head of the Fortress of Meropide, a prison for criminals that stands at the bottom of the Fontaine.

In the past, it was not uncommon for deaths to occur in the prison, but since he became its administrator, he has made dramatic improvements to the environment, guaranteeing everyone a certain amount of food, clothing, and shelter, and rewarding those who follow the rules and work properly in proportion to their efforts.

The prisoners who came here because they could not fit into society seem to feel particularly comfortable here, and some prisoners are saying that they do not want to return to the surface even after completing their sentences, in fact, some people even settle down as workers after giving up their prison status.

However, even in such a place, unfortunately, there are those who disrupt order. At such times, Wriothesley's fists become the best means of "negotiating" with the scoundrels, and "arguing with them".

Wriothesley also loved tea, and whenever anyone visited his workplace, he would invite them for tea.

Talents

• Normal Attack: Forceful Fists of Frost

1. Normal Attack: Performs up to 5 rapid punches and deals Cryo Damage. For a short time after Wriothesley uses his Elemental Skill: Icefang Rush or Sprinting, the counter on his Normal Attack combo will not reset.
2. Charged Attack: Consumes Stamina, performing a Vaulting Fist that deals AoE Cryo Damage.
3. Plunging Attack: Plunges from the air to the ground and deals AoE Cryo Damage on impact.

After Icicle Impact ends, a Surging Blade will descend upon the opponent's position, dealing Ousia-aligned Cryo Damage.

• 1st Ascension Passive: There Shall Be a Plea for Justice

When Wriothesley's HP is below 60%, he gains Gracious Rebuke and his next Charged Attack is enhanced to Rebuke: Vaulting Fist.

Rebuke: Vaulting Fist does not consume Stamina and increases its Damage by 50%. He can regain 30% of his Max HP for striking the target. The Gracious Rebuke effect can only be triggered once every 5 seconds.

• 4th Ascension Passive: There Shall Be a Reckoning for Sin

When Wriothesley's HP increases or decreases, if he is in the Chilling Penalty state after using his Elemental Skill, Chilling Penalty will gain a stack of Prosecution Edict (Max 5 stacks), each stack can increase 6% of his ATK.

• Utility Passive: The Duke's Grace

When Wriothesley crafts Weapon Ascension Materials, there are 10% chance to receive double the product.

• Neuvillette

I was once summoned by Neuvillette to discuss some matters with him in his office. When I approached the Palais Mermonia, I saw him standing by the road, completely drenched in the rain. I held out an umbrella for him, and while he thanked me politely, his expression was a little... distressed, I guess. I can only assume that I had disturbed him in the middle of something.

• Clorinde

Clorinde is the best Champion Duelist you can find. Her combat prowess is already the stuff of legend. I've never fought her myself, but that's because there's never been a need for it.

• Sigewinne

Sigewinne the head nurse possesses all the virtues associated with the medical profession and genuinely cares for the well-being of everyone around her.

She seems to have picked up some bad habits from me, though, like frequently betting with her Melusine friends over who'd be able to put more stickers on my belongings. Hm? No, I'm not actually bothered by it.

• Lyney

I'll admit that when I removed the House of the Hearth's spies in the underworld, that was kind of an intentional provocation to the Fatui. But their only response was to send down a bunch of children... Was it because they truly saw those kids as disposable? Or because they knew I wouldn't have it in me to let them come to serious harm? (sigh)

• Navia

The Fortress of Meropide works with Spina di Rosula on some matters regarding supplies and logistics, but we don't have any other dealings. This isn't because I don't trust Navia or her abilities, in fact, I hold her in quite high regard. The only reason we continue to stay out of each other's way is because I wanna honor the agreement I made with the late Mr. Callas.

• Furina

Miss Furina displayed a severe lack of interest in my trial and excused herself early, probably because I pleaded guilty to all charges as soon as they were announced. Disappointing the Hydro Archon is a big deal, so... suppose I've got no choice but to keep gifting her copious amounts of the highest quality tea.

• Chevreuse

Most inmates seem to gain a new level of respect for the rules after receiving attention from the Special Security and Surveillance Patrol. As the captain, Chevreuse is an instrumental part of that team.

• Emilie

The Fortress of Meropide doesn't need her services. Yet some things are best preserved the way they are, warts and all, so people don't make the same mistakes twice... I say warts, but yeah. I mean the smell.
