Overview編集

Coronavirus (コロナウイルス, koronauirusu) is a virus that causes respiratory infections such as the common cold. It is seriously infectious to humans and also infects birds and other animals, but currently has little impact on them.

The name "coronavirus" is derived from the numerous protrusions on its surface, which look like the corona of the sun.

Bats, elapidae snakes such as the many-banded krait, or the pangolin are also said to be the source of infection.

Usually, the disease usually resolves with a mild cold, but some, such as SARS and MERS, can cause pneumonia and lead to severe illness.
