MAJOR was first published in 1994 as part of the Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine. In 2004, an anime series was launched in NHK.
Plot
Goro Honda (later known as Goro Shigeno) is a young and enthusiastic baseball fanatic who dreams of becoming a baseball player just like his father Shigeharu Honda. With much determination and perseverance despite all of the trials that go in his way, Goro strives hard to reach his ultimate dream of being in the Major Leagues.

He is an American baseball player who once played in Japan and faced off against Shigeharu Honda.
Ken Mayumura (眉村健)
He is a gifted baseball player who serves as one of Goro's main rivals during their high school years.
Joe Gibson Jr. (ジョー・ギブソンJr)
He is the son of Joe Gibson who eventually became Goro's rival in the Major League.
