The F-4E Phantom II was a major variant of the F-4 Phantom II. The F-4E was the first version of the F-4 to have an internally mounted cannon. It was exported to various countries including South Korea, Israel, Greece, Turkey, Egypt and Iran.

The F-4E also served as basis for several sub-variants of the F-4 including the F-4EJ for Japan, the F-4G Wild Weasel V and the F-4F for West Germany.
