Overview
Genba Neko (現場猫, Genba Neko), or Safety Cat is a Japanese internet meme made on Futaba Channel of a construction worker cat pointing and saying "Alright!" (ヨシ!, yoshi!). Many of the collage images are related to industrial accidents with the implication the cat being moments away from serious injury.
History
Genba Neko is a derivative character created by processing Kumamine's original character Phone Cat on Futaba Channel.
Genba Neko was created by combining the face of Kumamine's Phone Cat the body of the Humanoid Object Angry which is distributed on the material site Sozaing.
On pixiv, illustrations began to be posted in numbers around the beginning of 2018, with a large number of illustrations being posted around August of the same year, following the Twitter craze.
