The Hawker-Siddeley Harrier (also informaly known as the Harrier Jump Jet) is a British VTOL aircraft and the first VTOL aircraft to be used in combat. The Harrier was later produced in the United States as the McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II, as well as a Navy version for the Royal Navy called the Sea Harrier.
