The Yom Kippur War (also known as the Ramadan or October War) was a 1973 conflict fought between Israel and the Alliance between Egypt and Syria.
It is considered the first modern tank war due to large use of anti-tank missiles (like the AT-3 Sagger) by Egypt and Syria. It also saw the first large scale use of medium and short Surface-to-air Missiles and the ZSU-23-4 Shilka. It also nearly led to both sides (including the United States and the Soviet Union) using Nuclear Weapons.
