    Zangoose (チャオ Zangūsu) is a Pokémon is based on the mongoose, an invasive species brought to Okinawa Prefecture to exterminate habus (a type of snake). Cat weasel is another name for mongoose.

    It has a cool red scar-like pattern on its pure white body.

    However, its appearance does not confirm many mongoose characteristics, and it looks more like a cat or rabbit than a mongoose.

    Legitimate mongoose Pokémon, such as Yungoos and Gumshoos, were introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon.
