Overview
Each Pokémon has one or two types. Each Pokémon uses one type of attack technique, and if a Pokémon uses an attack technique of the same type as the Pokémon itself, its power is increased by 1.5 times (commonly known as a "type-matching technique").
Types are compatible with each other, and the damage varies greatly from 4 times to 0 times depending on the type of the attacking move and the type of the Pokémon that receives it. The increase or decrease in damage due to type affinity is dramatic, and there is a big difference between knowing the type affinity and not knowing the type affinity. It is very important to learn the type affinity when playing Pokémon.
While a Pokémon's type affinity is also reflected in its ecology, such as its habitat and the environment in which it is weak, it is not absolute, such as learning moves of its weakest type (it does not have a water-resistant composite type) or living peacefully in a rock or ground type or near water or the sea.
The types currently include the following 18 types:
Normal Type | Fire Type | Water Type |
Grass Type | Electric Type | Ice Type |
Fighting Type | Poison Type | Ground Type |
Flying Type | Psychic Type | Bug Type |
Rock Type | Ghost Type | Dragon Type |
Dark Type | Steel Type | Fairy Type |
