This is a list of human names and nicknames used for works related to Axis Powers ヘタリア.
Why use human names and nicknames?
Tags for country names are also used for illustrations unrelated to Axis Powers Hetalia (e.g. landscape art of countries). Human names and nicknames are used to avoid competing for the same tag with them.
Example:
If England from Hetalia and illustrations of English landscape both had the tag "イギリス" or "England", when you search for these tags both kinds of illustrations will appear. This would be inconvenient for people who are looking for either kind of illustrations. If England from Hetalia only had the tag "アーサー・カークランド", the illustrations don't get mixed up and you can search easily.
How human names came to be
They are names the author listed on old diary and the blog (can no longer be found) to answer the question by fans, "what if you were to give them names?". America in the manga, Japan, South Korea, and Turkey in the 2008 April Fool's event, have each been referred to by their human names once.
Points to remember on human names/nicknames and searching
Even if you use the tags for human names/nicknames, you should still use the tag "ヘタリア" as well. This lets people who want to search for all works related to Hetalia and those who want to search without anything related to Hetalia do so.
Also, if you don't enter human names correctly (using "half-width kana" - kana characters that is half as wide as it is tall like alphabets instead of normal kana whose width is the same as its height, not using their full names, using English instead of Japanese) it will not be recognised as the same tag, so be careful.
