米国空軍に20年在籍していた経験を生かし独自のボブ・ロス画法を生み出し、それまで製作に多くの時間を費やす油絵の製作時間を大幅に短縮する事に成功。日本でもTV番組「ボブの絵画教室」で人気を博す。
1995年死去、享年52歳。

Bob Ross
A former member of the U.S. Air Force, stationed mostly in Alaska. He became a famous American painter after leaving the Air Force. He is most well known for his "The Joy of Painting" television series (known as "Bob's Painting Class" in Japan) and his eternally calm, soothing voice. He coined a number of famous phrases, such as "We don't have mistakes here, we just have happy accidents." and "happy little trees". His upbeat personality and extensive skill with wet-on-wet speed-painting with oils made his television show famous around the world and has inspired an entire generation of artists. He died in 1995, at the age of 52.
