Story
The story took place in a world where Titans dominated everything. The humans that became the prey of the Titan had to build 50-meters-high huge walls, to prevent invasion and protect their lives from the Titans, they chose to sacrifice their freedom of going outside the wall.
The 10-year-old boy named Eren Jaeger wanted to see the world beyond the walls. Eren felt uncomfortable with those who were satisfied with the fake peace and had given up going to the outside world. Eren called them "livestock".
However, Eren's "dream" and the people"s "peaceful" life were destroyed by the Colossus Titan who showed up suddenly...

Most Important Terms
Titan
A mysterious existence that snarls at human and prey on them.
Wall
A huge wall with a height of 50 meters and a thickness of 10 meters that surrounds the entire area where humans live and prevents the invasion of Titans. The total length of the outer wall (Wall Maria) is around 3200 km.
- Wall Maria: The outermost wall. The town of Shiganshina where Eren lives is the entrance of Wall Maria.
- Wall Rose: The middle wall. At the year of 845, the Titans invaded, and then Wall Maria became the outermost wall.
- Wall Sheena: the innermost wall protecting the kingdom where the king used to reside along with other noblemen.
Corps
The organization which is responsible for security and military operations inside and outside the wall. The volunteers are trained in the training corps, and after graduation, they will select the corps and be assigned there.
- Military Police Brigade: They involve police operations and guard the king inside the walls. They seem to be the safest, but only the elites are qualified.
- Garrison Regiment: They are responsible for defense and strengthening of the walls and protecting areas inside the walls. Among all the troops, they have much more soldiers than other troops.
- Survey Corps: The only expedition troop outside the wall. Although they are elites, since they often fight with Titans, the death rate is very high.
- Training Corps: All people over 12 years old can join the corps, and the rigorous training will be conducted to raise them as qualified soldiers.
Weapons
Besides the sword for close combat, there are cannon and gun (musket gun), but they can only cause little damage to Titans.
- Vertical Maneuvering Equipment: The standard equipment for soldiers against Titans. This made it easier to attack the weakness of the Titans, the back of their necks.

Season 3
It was announced immediately after the end of the season 2. According to the staff, there was a delay in the season 2, and this time, hopefully the new season can be broadcast without delays as possible.
While the attention was focused on the broadcast time, it was announced on July 24, 2018 at NHK General that the animation will start broadcasting from July 2018.
In April 27 of 2018, the broadcast start date and time was decided, and the broadcast would start every Sunday from 00:35 AM on July 22 (only in the Kansai area, it would be shifted to 1:15 AM as a matter of convenience of broadcast programs).
The producer said, "We have overcome the difficulties so that everyone in the country can watch the animation on the same day and the same time". The disparity with the regions was resolved.
As for the first-ever news that The new sequel of late-night animation broadcast mainly by an independent station will be broadcast on NHK, there were a lot of voices mixed with joy, surprise, and confusion, attracting attention before the broadcast started.
NHK was particularly strict with regulations, so the audience was worried about that, but the editor in charge tweeted that "(About the regulations), the new season is already approved, so there wouldn't be any problem".

There was a baby born from a Titan"s vomit. He was named Kuklo and spent his life as a show. Kuklo encountered a girl named Sharle in his painful and miserable life and regained the humanity, eventually he hoped to confront the Titans who have ruined his life. Kuklo tried an unprecedented "stowing away to an outer wall expedition"...

A user of the pixiv, hounori, who is an illustrator, has posted a four-panel manga of Attack on Titan on pixiv, and it was serialized as Small Titan on Bessatsu Shonen Magazinea from January 2014 on. There are some works which have already been submitted and some newly written works.
Game
In 2013, the software Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains for Nintendo 3DS was released on Spike Chunsoft. In 2014, the upper version CHAIN was released. In 2017, the part 2 Attack on Titan 2 - Future Coordinates was released.
In February 2016, Koei Tecmo Games released the game on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. The development was handled by Omega Force of the Warriors series. This sequel was also released in 2018.
In May 2017, the magazine released "Attack on Titan: Escape from Certain Death". Unlike the above, it is an adventure game. Ruby Party, who developed the game, Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time Series, was responsible for the development.
Other Mixed Media (event, collaboration, etc.)
There are many other events and collaborations. See also the external links.
- In 2013, the games called Attack on Japan Cup (Japan Cup) and Shingeki no Ariba Kinen (Arima Memorial) were released on the JRA site in collaboration with JRA (the Japan Racing Association) (currently all are closed with the end of the original race.) In the former game, you can control Eren, but in the latter game, you can use the most popular characters who have been ranked by the fans based on their vote (of course, Eren was also ranked and could be used. Each character has odds, and the higher the odds, the higher the difficulty).
- The Attack on Titan Exhibition was held at the Ueno Royal Museum since November 2014. The original illustrations and sensation cinema were exhibited. Later they were also held in Oita and Osaka.
- Collaboration with the real escape game has been performed several times since 2014. The basic setting is to escape from a building surrounded by Titans.
- In USJ, this has been selected as one of the works of Universal Cool Japan on 2015, and set up as attractions of Walk-through (2015) and the 4D movie (~ 2016) in the title of Attack on Titan: The Real. There are photo spots for Titans and characters that have been reproduced in life-size.
- The stage version Attack on Titan Live Impact was scheduled to be staged in Maihama Amphitheater on July 28, 2017, but the Acrobat Director Kazutaka Yoshino passed away on April 10 from injuries he received while inspecting the machines, therefore the show was canceled.
- Many other smartphone game collaborations such as Chain Chronicle and Logres of Swords and Sorcery are also being implemented. Maybe because there are too many collaborations, in the collaboration commercial of Puzzle & Dragons broadcast in 2015, Eren made the self-torturing comment of "Collaboration, collaboration... Do we only have collaborations" and "I don"t want to collaborate any more" (After he said so, Mikasa said, "This time, we are collaborating with Puzzle & Dragons," he normally accepted as "Yes".)
- In 2018, a collaboration with the original Muv-Luv Alternative game started. In addition, you can only play with DMM Games version, not the DMM Games Adult version.
- A collaboration event with White Cat Project was held from the end of February to March 20 in 2018. Eren, Mikasa, and Levi are playable characters and they participate as guests, at the same time Female, Armored, and Colossus Titans appear as boss characters. In addition, an official video was distributed to share the content of Protagonist) and Eren's voice actor is the same person in this work.
For Reference
- The prototype is a complete story for which the author received an award as MGP (Magazine Grand Prix) at the age of 19 in 2006. At that time, although the inspectors gave him a strict evaluation on drawing ability, the story and the frame layout were highly evaluated, and three years later, that has been published as the series debuts of the author. This complete version was attached as an appendix to the first volume of the anime DVD, and it was published on the official posting site of Shonen Magazine (Attack on Titan 0).
- There is a fake announcement at the end of the book. Different from the serious original manga, it is an announcement full of gag elements. Obviously, it has nothing to do with the main story.
