Overview
Ib (pronounced "Eve") is created as a freeware game which it can be found at the creator kouri's website Monochromuseum. This game contains multiple endings which takes place in an art museum. The gameplay is similar to most text-graphic adventure games where one play as Eve, a 9 year old girl trapped in an art museum trying to find her way out from the museum. It involves solving riddles and puzzles in each section, unusually spartan for an adventure game. This game is created using RPG Maker 2000, and the difficulty level is relatively simple. The menu screens and also individualistic, and doesn't bring out the feel of being made using RPG Maker.
The first version, 1.00 was released on February 17, 2012. It was followed by a version 1.02 release on March 27 of the same year. While there aren't any story changes, there are a few more gimmicks and special hints added. There are also plans to further refine the game with revisions according to the official site in the near future. A set of guidelines for videos and artworks were uploaded on April 14, 2012. Extra notes regarding doujinshi were posted on April 29, and notes regarding prohibited contents were added on May 4, following by RTA notes added on May 6. Cease and Desist letter will be sent to those who do not adhere kouri's set guidelines, and the work itself will be challenged and removed.
kouri also added an Ib Gallery (SPOILERS) on the site, containing official illustrations and sketches. The page will be constantly updated.
Lastly, there is also an English version (external link to Tumblr) available translated by an amateur translator. It is also possible to view Let's Play videos from all over the world on Youtube. A Korean version is also said to exist.
Story
One day, a girl named Ib visited a certain art museum with her parents.
However, All the visitor disappeared and Ib was left alone when Ib looked at a certain artwork.
While looking around for other patrons, the art museum gradually changes...

Characters
Ib
The protagonist of the series, and a nine-year-old girl. She went to the art museum with her parents for the "Guertena exhibition", but after looking at a certain painting, she became lost in an alternate world within the art museum. The red rose she picked up within the world symbolizes her life force, and she will die if all of the petals are scattered.
Garry
A young man who is found collapsed by Ib during her journey in the strange world, who is lost like she is. His speech pattern is very feminine. He too carries a rose, which is blue. When Garry is with Ib, he can read difficult kanji and move heavy objects for her.
Mary
A mysterious girl whom Ib and Garry met in the strange world. She carries an innocent and affectionate personality. Similar to both Ib and Garry, she also carries a yellow rose.
Evaluation
The game is lauded by players as extremely finely made for its refined sense of horror, bountiful sub-events, random components and varied conversations. It gained renown quickly after its release, and gained more attention after playthrough videos were uploaded to Nico Nico Douga. The cast of characters is also very popular, and here at pixiv there is a vast amount of fanart uploaded of them.
