Overview
This is a list of characters that appear primary in the Adventure Time animated series. This means characters from other media like the comics will most likely not show up on this list.

| The boy who is the protagonist of this work. He is mischievous but has a strong sense of justice. He spends his days adventuring. Finn is considered the only human on the Land of Ooo. He was an abandoned child, but was adopted and raised by Jake's parents. He lives with Jake in a treehouse in Grass Lands. At the beginning of the series, he was 12 years old, but he is gradually getting older. He has an odd probability of having a prosthetic right hand in parallel worlds, other worlds, and previous lives. He once had hair from Princess Bubblegum. | Finn's partner and brother who grew up with him. He is a yellow dog with an old man's voice, round eyes, and a mysterious power that allows him to expand and contract at will. He is very dependable, but he also has a natural tendency to be a bit of a blabbermouth and is strangely resigned. He is married to Lady Rainicorn and has five children. |

| Princess of the Candy Kingdom. Also abbreviated as "PB". She is a science geek and often engages in strange experiments inside and outside the castle. She is also a mad scientist with a pretty face. When she first appeared, she was wearing a white robe instead of a dress. She calls herself 18 years old, but is really quite older. She is surprisingly a realist, and as a monarch, she sometimes makes decisions that sacrifice the small for the big. When she went bald, she revealed her true nature as a mad scientist. | King of the Ice Kingdom. He is a somewhat troubled man who always kidnaps princesses from various countries and locks them up in jail ("marriage activity" according to him). Although he looks rather stupid, he has strong magical powers and flies with his beard. He has a heavy and sad past that is hard to imagine from his usual appearance. |

| The Vampire Queen has been alive for over 1000 years. She likes to suck anything colored red instead of blood. She is a powerful woman whom even Jake fears, but she is a friendly lady who likes to tease him. She often sings with her axe-bass, a guitar converted from an axe. She is a vampire, so she gets damaged when exposed to the sun, however, she seems to be okay with going out as long as she shields herself from direct sunlight with a parasol or a wide-brimmed hat. Her nickname is Marcy. | A game console in Finn and Jake's house. They also plays video and has a camera function. They have a cute voice. |

| A macho girl who (allegedly) looks like Finn. She lives with fish-like people who live underground, but is she a "human" like Finn? | Princess of the Fire Kingdom. She was Finn's lover, but because of her burning body, they are unable to touch each other. She is the same age as Finn, and when she is angry, she can take the form of a giant fire monster. She can also set fire to the forest and attack Finn and his friends with a straight face. Scary. |

| He is the second in line to the throne after Bubblegum, although Bubblegum created him as a failure. He is an emotionally unstable man who makes strange noises. Bubblegum later created an alter ego named Lemongrab 2, and with the help of his friends, his emotional stability seemed to have......stabilized, but he remained crazy. | A god of the multiverse with the power to grant any wish. He appears as a pink shadow reflected on a wall. Despite his almighty power, he is frank and good-natured. He sometimes serves Jake homemade pickles. |

| An evil demon that has existed since time immemorial with the sole purpose of eradicating all life. He casts spells to control the minds and bodies of living creatures, and can easily take lives with a single word or exhaled breath. Even after it he defeated, he can take over the bodies of others. He is the worst enemy in the entire series. | Butler and loyal servant of Princess Bubblegum. He is basically a gentleman, but he also has a dark side, such as mischievous gestures, unexpected appearances, and acquaintances. |

Fionna and Cake
Season 3 introduced a gender-reversal world, set in the story of a book written by Ice King.
Although the characters appeared in a episodes, it is very popular among the fans, and many fan artworks have been drawn.
