Adventure Time (アドベンチャー・タイム, Adobenchā Taimu) is an American animated television series broadcast on Cartoon Network. As a terrestrial broadcast, it began airing on Tokyo MX on March 19, 2015. From the December broadcast, it became compatible with MX Casting and can be viewed in areas where MX Casting is available. Comics was also launched in 2012.

Story

It is said that the Land of Ooo is a world where civilization was destroyed and magic was revived after the "Mushroom War" that once took place on Earth. A young boy named Finn, along with his partner Jake, travels around the continent, has a lot of fun at home, and is pushed around by many strong characters, all the while trying to become a hero in order to help people. This is a bizarre adventure story of the "feel rather than think" type.

Aliases and Notational Variants

When tagged in English it goes by AdventureTime or Adventure_Time.

Because this is a foreign work, there are many tagging errors.

The official title of the Japanese version is "アドベンチャー・タイム" with a "・", but perhaps because the Japanese version was broadcast late, "アドベンチャータイム" without the "・" is more common as a pixiv tag.

In Japan, "AT" is more commonly used for armored troopers in Votoms or the AT Field in Evangelion," but in English speaking spaces, "AT" is often used as an abbreviation for "Adventure Time".

There is also a Chinese and Taiwanese versions, being "探險活寶".

Trends in Fan Works of Adventure Time

This work is extremely popular among its home country as well as Japan, and fan works are very active, with many unique couplings/shipping works.

One that stands out in particular is the yuri coupling of Bubblegum and Marceline (commonly known as "Bubbline").

Since the official version of the work has been released in the form of a gender-swapped episode, fans often draw the gender-swapped versions of the characters.
