Classic Sonic (クラシックソニック) refers to the pre-Sonic Adventure form of Sonic from the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
Classic Sonic (クラシックソニック Kurashikku Sonikku) is the Sonic of the pre-Sonic Adventure era (the Mega Drive and Sega Genesis era).
There is a clear differentiation in performance from Modern Sonic, with Classic Sonic being unable to use homing attacks or boosting abilities.
Although Classic Sonic from Sonic Generations and onward does not use voices and instead speaks through sound effects and gestures, he is voiced by Toshio Furukawa in a commercial for the first game, Takeshi Kusao in SegaSonic the Hedgehog, Masami Kikuchi in the Sonic OVA anime, and Masato Nishimura in Sonic CD.
