Overview
Sonic Generations (ソニックロストワールド Sonikku Jenerēshonzu) is a 2011 Sonic title that commemorates the 20th anniversary of the birth of the Sonic series.
The console and 3DS versions had there own titles in Japan, the console release is known as Sonic Generations: White Space-time (ソニック ジェネレーションズ 白の時空, Sonikku Jenerēshonzu Shiro no Jikū) while the 3DS title is known as Sonic Generations: Blue Adventure (ソニック ジェネレーションズ 青の冒険, Sonikku Jenerēshonzu Ao no Bōken).
One of the greatest features of the game is the co-starring of Classic Sonic from the classic era and Modern Sonic from Sonic Adventure onward. According to the producer, this collaboration was originally taboo.
The stages in this title are remakes of stages from past Sonic titles, selected by a survey of Sega employees and fans, so that players can enjoy stages that were 2D in the original, such as Green Hill, in 3D, and stages that were 3D, such as City Escape, in 2D.
