Overview

Amy Rose (エミー・ローズ, Emī Rōzu), real name Rosy the Rascal (ロージー・ザ・ラスカル, Rōjī za Rasukaru) is one of the regular characters in the Sonic series, having a crush on Sonic the Hedgehog since her first appearance in Sonic CD.

Personality

Although she is a bit selfish and conceited, she has a kind and pure heart at heart, and the latter has been brought to the fore in Sonic '06 and later.

In Japan

In Japanese she goes by the first person pronoun is atashi (あたし), most commonly used by young women. But other times she is sometimes referred to as watashi (わたし) in some works, such as Sonic Riders.

Since the change of her appearance and setting in Sonic Adventure, she has been more competitive and has sometimes taken on a kogal-like tone, but in Sonic '06 and later titles, her kind and considerate nature is emphasized, and her kogal tone gradually disappears.

Piko Piko Hammer

It is not known where she hides her weapons, but she carries a Piko Piko Hammer as big as her own body for self-defense, and in some cases, she takes it out to attack.

She carries not one but several hammers, and seems to be able to use them instantly (from the anime Sonic X), which was described as magical in the American comic book version. However, in the Sonic Boom cartoon, she has only one hammer, and there was a time when she was in a pinch when her hammer was taken away from her.

The size sometimes seems to change with her emotions, and at the end of Sonic and the Black Knight, Sonic is startled and chased by a big hammer and is chased by her.

Although it is called the Piko Piko Hammer, its power exceeds that of Knuckles' fist, and it is said that even Sonic cannot stop Amy when she goes out of control.

She calls herself Sonic's girlfriend and is always chasing after him, and although she has a one-sided love for him, he seems to understand his feelings to some extent, although he himself is not very fond of her.

The degree of her affection for Sonic varies slightly from one medium to another.
