List of characters from Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog action game series.

Overview

The characters in the Sonic series mainly occupy the so-called "animal" type characters, which are anthropomorphic animals, and (with a few exceptions) are characterized by the name of the original model animal being indicated at the end of their names.

Although this is often misunderstood by those unfamiliar with Sonic, many human and non-human characters other than Dr. Eggman also appear in the series.

The number of characters from different media such as the American comics and animated versions is extremely large, so the following list focuses on well-known characters or those for which articles exist or soon to be.

Sticks the Badger is the only one in the semi-main characters list that is not in the main universe.

Mighty the Armadillo is seen as a forgotten member of the Chaotix outside Japan. This can be in the Archie Sonic comics (North America) and Sonic the Comic (United Kingdom). He was never made to be a member and he is generally see as not one of the members in Japan.
