Game Overview
The concept is similar to its predecessor games. In this game you play as a producer, and you'll be given a choice to choose one out of three categories available (Cute, Cool, Passion). Once decided, you'll be assigned an idol and your objective is to raise her as to be a top idol. The character designer of this game is Annin Tofu, the original character designer and image illustrator for the previous Idolmaster games.
While the core concept remains similar, there are significant differences in this game. The first difference is that there are over a hundred different characters available to be produced. They are divided into three categories, Cool, Cute, and Passion. Cool signifies cool and beautiful types, Cute signifies cute and princess types, and Passion signifies energetic and sexy types. First, the player (producer) will go through a simple tutorial, where the manager will guide the player through the game basics. The game is fairly simple: Collect experience points, money, and other idols through working to secure funds for their idol training. Players can choose to train their idols by conducting lessons with lesson partners, which raise the level of the chosen idol at the cost of losing the lesson partners.
Players can also choose to raise the an idol's potential by conducting special lessons. These require two of the same idol and give the idol their idol outfit. When players are comfortable with their idol's stats, they can participate in Live Battle, where they will compete with other idols in order to gain fans. Live Battle plays very similarly to most online card battle games (hence all idols recruited comes with the form of a card), which the player may assigned up to five idol cards in other to battle with other players in order to see who got the most fans in the end. Players can also obtain dresses through working and battling, and if they obtain six colors of a dress, they will be rewarded with a rare idol. Players may also choose to buy items to quickly replenish their stamina and attack, as well as mobacoins in order to roll in the platinum gacha for a chance at rare cards (These cost actual money and will be added to one's phone bill).
