Overview
Knuckles' Chaotix as known in the west is a spin-off game of the Sonic series, this game was released for the Sega 32X, an add-on option for the Mega Drive and Sega Genesis. In Japan the tile was just Chaotix (カオティクス Kaotikusu), and unlike how the western title makes it sound like that Knuckles runs the team, on the Japanese packaging states below the title "Featuring Knuckles the Echidna".
The main character is Knuckles, who made his full-fledged debut in Sonic & Knuckles, while Sonic, the main character of the series, only appears in the true ending with Tails. Furthermore, the game can be considered the culmination of the Mega Drive and Sega Genesis Sonic series, as Amy appears in a sound test when a hidden command is entered.
"COOL SWEET & CATCHY!"
However, not many people are familiar with this title as it has not been ported to other consoles since its release, and some players have complained that they cannot enjoy the familiar high-speed action of the Sonic series due to its unique controls.
