Overview

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ2 Sonikku za Hejjihoggu Tsū) is the second title in the Sonic series of side-scrolling action games for the Mega Drive and Sega Genesis, and the debut title for Sonic's sidekick Tails. The Spin Dash was added to Sonic's action, allowing him to enjoy high-speed action.

In this title, the number of Chaos Emeralds, which only changed in the ending of the previous title, has been increased to seven. Super Sonic can be used for the first time, which makes him invincible unless the ring count is reduced to zero, and a battle mode has been added for two players to enjoy playing together.
