About
A white tiger beastman. He's as strong as you'd expect from his looks. He speaks very ponderously and makes jokes with no warning.
Byff meets Gram Blaze while on a mission from his master to find a book said to hold "all of creation" and is convinced to join with the promise he can explore Velleman's study to his heart's content.
He's extremely fluffy and spends his days getting pet by the various members of Gram Blaze.
While Byff might look scary, he's actually incredibly silly and loves bad jokes, making him one of the game's scene-calming agents. The more serious members of the cast never seem to know how to respond to him.
According to one event, he hates baths, and was traumatized by his master washing him once upon a time, making him seem more like a housecat than a tiger. He even meows sometimes.
Medoute calls him Fuzzy.
Byff was actually once a normal tiger living in the forest, but a certain witch who wanted a familiar captured him and gave him humanlike intelligence and a beastman form. Byff and his master live in a snowy country in the north; specifically, his and his master's home is in a forest 77 mountain ranges north of Bronquia's northern border.
As you may have guessed, the book Byff's master wants is actually a certain other character's precious possession. There's an optional duel conversation between the two of them at the end of a certain route where this is formally touched on.
In Combat
Byff is a sword-type unit and fights with a pair of daggers. His special skill Rauger increases the stats of all male members of the player's Union.
Byff's unit traits allow him to completely cancel out the initial attack of any bow-type unit, and he is strong on snowy terrain, making him incredibly useful in some situations.
His basic final stats are 5/6/4/2, for a total of 17 stars, around average for units in this game. His TEC grows incredibly quickly and reaches its natural total of 4 very early, at level 12.
