Story
The Bronquian Empire…
A military state traditionally ruled by emperors who have made contracts with the ancient Dragon of Purgatory Brongaa and inherited its power.
As soon as the current Emperor of Bronquia, Thortie, succeeded the throne from his younger brother and was crowned, he instated heavy taxes and suddenly began drafting new soldiers to strengthen the military.
Emperor Thortie’s misgovernment sparked an explosion of worry amongst the populace.
As a result, outbreaks of rebellion and insurrection began to occur across the country, and public order deteriorated. Pillage by bandits and illegal transactions by merchants ran rampant. The citizens’ peaceful lives were cruelly torn apart at the hands of a monster by the name of Injustice.
In the western part of the empire lies its capital of trade, a city called Tiera.
It is a city where wealthy merchants grow rich on exploitation, segregated from the struggling poor: A city that could be said to represent the state of the empire on a miniature scale.
And it is in a corner of Tiera—in the slums of Nether, where the oppressed live huddled together—that our story raises its curtains…

Characters
Garlot (voiced by Kousuke Toriumi)
The protagonist, age 17. A boy who began to desire power with which to protect himself and his loved ones after the childhood trauma of having been abandoned by his mother and horribly abused by his father. He is unable to accept the injustice of the world around him, and wants to become strong enough to change that reality.
He is hot-blooded, short-tempered, and reckless, but is also gentle at heart and sensitive, and is so extraordinarily compassionate that he even empathizes with his enemies. He is incredibly merciful and loves his friends deeply.
Just maybe, when he grows up...
Siskier (voiced by Yui Horie)
The heroine, age 17. She is Garlot's childhood friend, who first started playing with him to try to cheer him up. She has romantic feelings for him, but Garlot doesn't realize this. He seems to view her more as an older sister or mother figure and is emotionally dependent on her.
She has a bright and cheery personality, and loves scarves. She hates clothes that restrict her movements, and is so lightly dressed that she gets made fun of for being an "exhibitionist".
Jenon (voiced by Shinji Kawada)
Garlot and Siskier's childhood friend, age 17. Unlike the two of them, Jenon was born to a wealthy family and had a privileged upbringing. However, he believes in the same ideals as his friends, and ran away from home to become their vigilante band's adviser. He is a little vain and flippant, and flirts with every cute girl he meets.
Jenon is mainly in charge of Gram Blaze's tactics. As he has something of an inferiority complex, when Nessiah joins the group as a strategist, Jenon quickly becomes jealous of him, and the two don't get along.
Medoute (voiced by Rie Tanaka)
A self-proclaimed "traveling warrior", age 21. She rescues Garlot and his friends when enemies have them on the ropes, but gives them an earful about biting off more than they can chew. When she sees what effect her words have on them, she decides to stay with them and watch over their battle as a means of taking responsibility.
Due to her rich life experience, Medoute acts as the party's senpai figure and often teaches Garlot & company about the world around them. She has a mature, sisterly personality, but sometimes has difficulty handling her companions' emotional behavior.
Aegina (left) and Luciana (right) (voiced by Mai Nakahara)
Twin sisters adopted and raised by a noble named Albelt, age 15. They are rescued from danger by Garlot in chapter 2, and become members of Gram Blaze. Luciana is an NPC due to a leg injury, but Aegina joins the party.
They are being targeted by a mysterious organization called the "Blessed Papal Army", and appear to be shouldering a heavy fate, but are reluctant to open up about their past. Luciana, the elder sister, is kind and cheerful; Aegina, the younger, is serious and humble.
Nessiah (voiced by Tsubasa Yonaga)
A blind sorcerer. His exact age is unknown, but he appears to be around 19 years old. He is rumored to be a skilled prophet, and lives deep in the forest. Garlot & company visit him to see if he would be of use to their cause and recruit him if so, but Nessiah turns the interview around and has them prove their worthiness to him instead.
After this Nessiah becomes Gram Blaze's new adviser, taking charge of strategy and participating in battle with his powerful magic as a necromancer. He and Garlot hit it off quickly, become very close, and are rarely seen apart, but Nessiah seems to dislike Jenon, who frequently antagonizes him out of jealousy.
Eimi (voiced by Ai Nonaka)
An 11-year-old little girl searching for her long-lost older half-brother. While small for her age and somewhat childish, she has incredible dynamism and toughness.
She's rescued from danger by Garlot and Siskier at the very beginning of the story and then returns to her own journey, but later on she reappears at an unexpected time and place.
Leon (voiced by Takuya Satou)
A knight known as a mad warrior. Age 19. He is an Imperial soldier, and serves as a captain defending the border. After a certain traumatic incident, he lost his faith in people and became a loose cannon who's harsh to both friend and foe.
After losing to Garlot in battle, Leon comes to see Garlot as his rival.
