ふぁーりー
Furry(ファーリー)とは、海外(主に英語圏)でのオタク用語における萌え属性の一つ。
いわゆるケモノのことであり、動物キャラクターや獣人、獣耳などの動物関係の属性を指す。
またはそれらの属性を持ったキャラクターが描かれたイラストに付けられるタグ。
fur(毛皮・獣毛・にこ毛・柔毛)から派生した語である。
用法
日本ではケモノ系キャラクターそのものを示す言葉「ケモノ」と、
それを愛好する人を示す言葉である「ケモナー」はそれぞれ分けて使われているが、
海外ではキャラクターそのものやジャンルそのもの、それを愛好する人も全て「Furry」という単語で呼ばれる傾向にある。
(その為、前後の文面からどの意味で使っているのかを読み取る必要がある)
「Furries(ファーリーズ)」と複数形で書かれている場合は高確率で「ケモナー」のことを示す意味として使われている場合が多い。
また、日本においてケモノやケモノと関連性のある属性を「ケモ」や「ケモ○○」と略して使うのと同様に、
語源である「Fur」をそのままFurryの略称として使用する場合もある(この場合はキャラクターのことを示していることが多い)。
例:「デブケモ」に当たる言葉として「Fat fur」など。
ケモノジャンルという文化全体を示す場合は「Furry-Fandom(ファーリー・ファンダム)」という言葉が使われる場合もある。
Furryの定義
「Furry」とされるものについては日本において「ケモノ」とされるものとほぼ同範囲であるが、
海外では獣耳も場所によってはFurryの内に含まれるものとされることがある。
(日本では獣耳はケモノの内には入らないとする傾向が強い)
しかし、海外のオタク特に日本アニメなどの日本のサブカルチャーが好きな人の内、
とりわけ日本的なイメージの強いネコミミ美少女などが好きで、
獣人らしいFurryは好まないという人々が「ネコミミはkawaii nekomimiであってFurryとは違う!」と主張し、
獣耳とFurryが同一のものとして扱われることが好ましくないとする声もある。
これは4chanのような海外のWebサイトにおいて、日本のサブカルチャーが好きな人が多く集まる場所では従来の欧米らしい絵柄のFurryキャラは好まれないという背景があるためである。
絵柄
全体的な絵柄やデザインの傾向としては主にディズニーなどの海外で古くから親しまれている所謂カートゥーンの絵柄を基盤にしているもの、俗に言うバタ臭い絵柄が多い。
日本のマンガ・アニメの絵柄寄りのものは「Kemono」と呼ばれ、Furryとは似て非なるものとして扱われる場合もある。
pixivにおける「furry/Furry」タグ
pixiv内でこのタグを使用しているユーザーの大半は海外絵師であるが、
日本人の絵師が海外ユーザー向けにこのタグを付けていたり、
あるいは海外風の絵柄を意識したケモノ絵に使用していることも多い。
「Anthro（アンスロ）」
■「ケモノ」から引用
二足歩行の獣人や動物キャラを表す言葉として「Anthro（アンスロ）」が広く使われており、Furryと関連性が強い・もしくはFurryとほぼ同意義のものとして用いられている。
また、Anthroが完全にFurryの下位分類として用いられている場合、基本的に二足型のFurryをAnthroとし、四足型(ヨツケモ)にはFeralやNon-Anthroという言葉を使う場合もある。
「yiff（イッフ）」
Furry関係の事柄の中でも特に性的であったり卑猥であったりする事柄について使われる言葉。
語源については諸説あり、単にキツネの鳴き声が由来という説や、
「Young Incredibly Fuckable Fox」(若い信じられないほどに性交することができる若いキツネ)もしくは
「Young Incredibly Fuckable Furry」(若い信じられないほどに性交することができる若いケモノ)の頭文字を取ったものだという説がある。
簡潔に言えば要するに「エロいケモノ」や「ケモエロ」という意味ではあるが、
そこから転じてケモナーが性的に興奮している様子や、
着ぐるみを着たケモナー同士で性行為をすることを示す言葉として使われることも多い。
ポケモン等の日本の作品は割愛。
日本でも知名度のある作品
・バンビ、ライオンキング、ズートピア、ロビン・フッドなどのディズニー作品全般
・スピリット、ヒックとドラゴン、カンフーパンダなどのドリームワークス作品全般
・マイリトルポニー(特にこの作品のファンは「broney(ブロニー)」や「pegasister(ペガシスター)」と呼ばれ、Furryファンの枠を超えた独自のコミュニティを築いている)
・バルト
日本では知名度が低いまたは放送されていない作品
・Dragon Tales(ドラゴンテイルズ)1999年製のアメリカとカナダによるテレビアニメ。
・Road Rovers(ロードローヴァーズ)1996年製のアメリカのテレビアニメ。13話しか放送されておらず映像ソフト化等もされていないほぼ幻の作品だがそのキャラクターのおかげで非常に人気がある。
・Littlest Pet Shop(リトレストペットショップ)
・The Nut Job(ナッツジョブ)
